Lecturing in Oulu

There will be some game studies program in ‘Taiteiden yö’ event in Oulu this year. My own talk in Thursday Aug 26th will deal with games, ethics and effects (dealing with both the claimed positive as well as negative effects of games). It seems to have been great; but Finland is a bit far from here. Tell me, in who did you based the “negative effects” part of the talk?

Hi Thais – I did a survey of the game effects literature some time ago for the government (publish in Finnish only, unfortunately), so there were quite a few of books and articles in there.

Finnish only? That’s a pity, but if you have the online version of your survey or some of those articles or something, I could really try to understand.
I’m a Brazilian Grad Student studying the potential effects of video games to literacy. I believe that hear the pros and also the cons can make the study really richer, so you would be reaaaaally helping me.
